Why Going to College Could Save a Life

Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering, related to building bridges and other structures, is another area in which it pays to have the right kind of training and degree. Bridge collapses are rare but not unheard of. Some have been the result of natural causes and can’t be predicted. But some occur due to poor design or construction. One miscalculation could cause the whole bridge to fall, risking the lives of those who use the bridge in addition to those of the construction workers building the bridge.

Engineering requires a good knowledge of advanced math and physics, found at the college level.
