Why Going to College Could Save a Life

Math and the Sciences

Many careers, such as those related to engineering and the medical field, benefit from the study of advanced math and science. These subjects teach critical thinking and problem solving skills, which can help one to be more confident in making life-and-death decisions. Colleges are requiring pre-med students to take these courses in order to enter into med school. Employers are also seeking these critical skills when looking for new hires.

While learning a trade outside of college can save a person money and provide proficient training in some instances, these are just a few examples of careers in which having a higher degree of education could literally mean the difference between life and death.
